Brittney Chau, PGY-5: I was born and raised in San Gabriel (626 in the house!), and I majored in Biology at UCLA before moving to the east coast for medical school at New York Medical College. I missed the SoCal sun, good Asian food/boba, and my family too much so decided to come back home, which was the best decision ever! My free time is spent hiking with friends, dying over cute animal videos, and dancing in my room to EDM and Kpop. I’m passionate about spending all the meal money we get, and my favorite things to get are Kombucha, acai bowls, and Hot Cheetos!
Justin Park, PGY-4: I come from Irvine, Orange County, and have been local since I was 12. Prior to that, I was born in Korea, lived there for 5 years, then spent 7 years in Vietnam. Unfortunately, I lost all my Vietnamese skills. I spent 5 years of my life in the Northeast, attending BU for med school and completing my intern year in Cambridge. I’m glad to be back at USC where I also did my undergrad studies previously (x2 Trojan!). I like to spend my free time playing golf, video games, and pursuing DIY woodworking projects – none of them which I am good at.
Amir Ahari, PGY-4: I was born and raised in the lively city of Tehran, Iran. After completing medical school, I moved to North America and eventually settled in Toronto, Canada. There, I pursued my interest in cancer research and earned a master’s degree in community health. Then, I took on a new adventure in Los Angeles. I am enjoying the sunny weather in Los Angeles while navigating residency challenges. Outside work, you can find me cooking up a storm in the kitchen, on fire, or indulging in outdoor activities like e-biking/hiking in the Santa Monica mountains or running along the Pacific coast. I’m also a sports enthusiast, particularly in fast-paced ones, such as hockey, basketball, and tennis. I love spending time with my family or immersing myself in books on personal development, entrepreneurship, and startup culture. Whether through reading or listening, I am always seeking to learn!
Ashwin Ganesh, PGY-3: I was born in Ottawa, Canada and moved to the US when I was 7. After living in San Diego, Dallas, and the Bay Area, I majored in Bioengineering at UCSD. I then did medical school at the University of Illinois Chicago and my transitional year in Tucson. I’m glad to be back in SoCal. Outside of work, I watch basketball (Lakers), cricket (Chennai Super Kings), soccer (FC Barcelona) and exploring all the mountains SoCal has to offer.
Seraphina Choi, PGY-3: I was born in New York and moved to Orlando when I was little, where I grew up as a proud Disney kid. I attended the University of Miami for both undergrad and medical school (double Cane!) and am now excited to call Los Angeles home. I’m looking forward to exploring the amazing food, nature, and culture of SoCal. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, discovering new places to eat, and practicing Pilates and yoga.
Vineet Desai, PGY-2: I was born and raised in Lake Forest, California. I went to Vanderbilt for undergrad, where I double majored in biology and organizational development. I then went to Harvard Medical School, and subsequently completed my intern year in general surgery at Duke. In my free time, I enjoy running, watching re-runs of sitcoms, and trying new boba and froyo places in SoCal.
Om Sakhalkar, PGY-2: I’ve lived in a few different places growing up before moving to Georgia when I was 11. I completed the BS/MD program at Augusta University, majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Psychology, before graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 2025. I then completed my transitional year at Piedmont Macon before making my way to Los Angeles for residency. I speak English and Marathi and am currently learning Spanish. Outside of work, I enjoy trying new restaurants, playing tennis and pickleball, going to comedy shows, singing karaoke, and making frequent trips to Costco. I’m excited to explore everything LA has to offer, especially its food, entertainment, and endless things to do.
